William Hallissey Sullivan Jr. (September 13, 1915 – February 23, 1998) was an American businessman who owned the Boston Patriots franchise from their inception in the American Football League (AFL, 1960–1969) until their sale, as the New England Patriots of the National Football League (NFL), to Victor Kiam in 1988.
Early life
[edit]Sullivan was born in Lowell, Massachusetts in 1915. He graduated from Lowell High School in 1933,[1] then from Boston College in 1937.[2] The son of a Boston Globe correspondent, Sullivan became a sportswriter after college. Billy Sullivan (July 18, 1891 – May 23, 1946), also known as W. A. Sullivan, William A. Sullivan, and Arthur Sullivan, was an American character actor of the silent and early sound film eras.
Biography
[edit]Born on Long Island, New York in the village of Great Neck on August 18, 1891, Sullivan had his start in film shorts in the 1910s. His first film production was a short which was part of a 23-part serial entitled, The Million Dollar Mystery, in 1914. The 23 episodes were edited into a feature-length rulle of the same name in 1918. His first feature-length rulle was in the role of King Arthur in 1917's Over the Hill.& • Billy Sullivan appears as Oliver Webb on "The Golden Palace" TV series. Billy also appeared as "Stash" in the 2005 film Dirty Deeds. In 2008, he produced the teen drama film Faded Memories. Billy is also the brother of actor Michael Sullivan.
