Elmendorf, dean of the Harvard Kennedy School (HKS) since January , announced this morning that he would conclude his service at the end of this academic year, June 30, Claudine Gay, University president since July 1, has already appointed her successor as Faculty of Arts and Sciences dean(and that dean has named a new engineering and applied sciences dean), and a new Divinity School leader, but now has two major professional-school deanships to fill (a search continues for the School of Public Health).     Born in Poughkeepsie, New York, Elmendorf attended the Poughkeepsie Day School and graduated from Spackenkill High School.[3][4] He spent his early career as an academic and educator. He graduated from Princeton University with an A.B. in economics in after completing a page long senior thesis titled "A Prediction Model of the Market for Engineering."[5] He then attended Harvard University to obtain his master's and Ph.D. in the sam
