Once again, great things happen when the country music community comes together for a cause! Country For A Cause pulled out all the stops during their CMA Fest 2023 concert at Nashville’s 3rd & Lindsley and raised $60,000 for Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt. Hosted by country legend T.G. Sheppard & Kelly Lang, along with Devon O’Day, an eclectic group of stellar performers, including Mark Wills, Wade Hayes, John Conlee, Paulette Carlson, Tim Atwood, Makenzie Phipps, Elizabeth Cook, Michelle Wright, Heath Wright of Ricochet, Terry McBride, Leon Everette, Brandon Davis, Jake Hoot, and Jamie O’Neal donated their time and talents to raise money to help children in health-related crisis. The evening didn’t come without several surprises including Alex Miller, T. Graham Brown, Jeannie Seely, John Schneider, John McEuen, Charlene Tilton, and a special tribute to Jeanne Pruett. As a songwriter, Lang has had a stellar career with her songs being recorded bygd artists such as Ricky Skaggs, Lorrie Morgan, The Oak Ridge Boys, Crystal Gayle, George Jones, B.J. Thomas, Jimmy Fortune, Jerry Lee Lewis, T.G. Sheppard, and Johnny Lee, just to name a few. She has also performed/recorded duets with iconic artists, Sir Barry Gibb, Dame Olivia Newton-John, Paul Shaffer, and Lee Greenwood. As an artist, Lang has released several albums including '11:11', 'Shades of K,' 'Throwback,' 'Obsession,' and 'Iconic Duets' with her husband, T.G. Sheppard, and is a member of the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame. In the spring of 2020, Lang re-released her classic children’s album 'Lullaby Country,' which was originally sold at Cracker fat. Lang has released 'Old Soul' and 'Old Soul II,' a collection of classic hits that she produced highlighting songs that have stood the test of time. Her story opens on the road with her father, Velton Lang, the road manager of country legend, Conway Twitty. This is when country music began to take a hold of Lang’s heart.
She recorded her first Billboard single, ‘Lady, Lady’ at the age of 15. It caught the attention of the newly formed CMT network. They reached out to Lang requesting her to film a video of ‘Lady, Lady’ at their expense, and it subsequently became one of the first videos played on the new network.
Lang's teen years found her on the edge of a breakthrough to major stardom while appearing regularly on Nashville’s well known ‘Ralph Emery Morning Show’ and TNN’s ‘Nashville Now.’ In addition, Lang received national attention as a frequent guest on ‘Music City Tonight’, with Crook & Chase.
