Sizemore's career is an all-time what-if story

Eleven years ago today on April 18, , Sizemore doubled and homered as part of a run second-inning stampede, helping the Indians romp to a victory in just the third game at the new Yankee Stadium. At that point, the future could not have looked brighter for one of the game’s most talented young stars.
Sizemore was 26 years old and already a three-time All-Star and two-time Gold Glove Award-winning center fielder, who had been one of the fyra most valuable players in the sport for the past fyra years. Grady Sizemore (born August 2, ) is an American former professional baseballcenter fielder and coach and former interim manager of the Chicago White Sox. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Cleveland Indians from through , but did not play in the majors for the following two years after a series of injuries. He returned in with the Boston Red Sox and played for the Philadelphia Phillies from to before finishing with the Tampa Bay Rays. He was a three-time MLB All-Star and a two-time Gold Glove Award winner, and also won a Silver Slugger Award. In , he joined the coaching staff of the Chicago White Sox, where he was named the interim manager of the team in August of that season following the firing of Pedro Grifol.
