This Nuts to You! book activity is the perfect extension for a fantastic book! Once we read the book, Evan was so excited to make our own squirrel feeder.

It’s another week of PLAYful Preschool! This week the theme is: Nuts and Seeds. The team has a bunch of fun activities planned for you, so make sure you scroll to the bottom of this post to kvitto them out.

I love to program activities based around a great book and this is one of my favorites yet! The book, Nuts to You! bygd Lois Ehlert is a captivating book about a mischievous squirrel who is looking for food. The rhythmic text and vibrant pictures make it a perfect book for young children.

One day, after reading the book, inom told Evan that we were going to feed the squirrels too! We were going to make our very own squirrel feeder and put peanuts in it just like the story. He was so excited!

Nuts to You! by Lois Ehlert is one of our favorite children&#;s books for fall! We created this squirrel craft complete with real peanut shells to go with the story. This project uses all kinds of fun art techniques and is perfect for kindergarten and on up.

Have you read Nuts to You! bygd Lois Ehlert? It is definitely a book worth owning! In this story a cute, little squirrel finds his way into a boy&#;s bedroom through a tear in his window screen. The boy lures him out with some peanuts, shouting, &#;Nuts to You!&#;. (Now we find ourselves yelling &#;Nuts to You!&#; whenever we see a squirrel!)

Nuts to You!- Virtual Book Club

Nuts to You!, a fall book, literacy activities, outdoor fun&#;We have at it all for you today!  We are very excited to participate in this year&#;s Virtual Book Club hosted by Toddler Approved, Mommy and Me Book Club and The Educator&#;s Spin On It.  Each month a different author is featured.  Everyone then selects a book by the chosen author and creates an activity to accompany the book.  The featured author for September is Lois Ehlert.

Lois Ehlert is the author and illustrator of several wonderful books including Color Zoo which won her a Caldecott Honor Award.  If you are interested in learning more about Ms. Ehlert&#;s work,  head over to Reading Rockets to watch an interview with her.

Growing Book by Book has chosen Nuts to You! by Ehlert.  It&#;s seemed appropriate that we get a book about squirrels since we are dealing with a few that have made a nest in our front porch roof and a few more that keep trying to eat the seeds out of our bird f
