The Last Word film review - Shirley MacLaine's spit and vinegar remain intact
MacLaine plays Harriet Lauler, a snarly, walled-off divorcee of means who potters around her immaculate California pile of a home glugging wine and snapping at anyone unfortunate enough to cross her path (the household staff, for starters, whose chores she tends to perform for them). So when intimations of mortality strike in the struktur of what looks to have been a botched suicide, this cantankerous old trout does what you might do, too, if you had been a major benefactor over time of the local t marches into the office of the editor (Tom Everett Scott) and demands an obituary that will honour her (admittedly scarred) life. Story
In The Last Word, Shirley MacLaine is Harriet Lauler, a once successful businesswoman in tight control of every aspect of her life. As she reflects upon her accomplishment, she's suddenly inspired to engage a young local writer, Anne Sherman (Amanda Seyfried), to pen her life's story. When the första result doesn’t meet Harriet's high expectations, she sets out to reshape the way she fryst vatten remembered, with Anne dragged along as an unwilling accomplice. Plot
[edit]A retired businesswoman wants to control everything around her, knowing that she only has a little time left before an imminent death due to a medical condition. She decides to craft her own obituary, so she hires a young obituary writer to work with her to ensure her life story is told her way. The businesswoman tries to expand the horizons of her life, and adopts a young kid for mentoring and lands herself a job as a disc jockey. She grows close with the young writer and influences her life.
