Karen is an award-winning producer from the UK who moved in to producing following a highly successful career in Global Events Management in the City of London. Her former training as an actor combined with her exceptional organisational skills and financial acumen make her an outstanding Creative Producer.
Karen is CEO and lead producer of production company, Hidden Door Productions, established in 2015.
Her debut feature film, Just Charlie, has achieved critical acclaim around the world and won many awards including the prestigious Audience Award at the Edinburgh International Film Festival and the Grand Prix in the Ecran Juniors in Cannes 2019. It has been sold to many territories internationally (theatrical and otherwise) including Amazon in the USA and most recently to SKY cinema in the UK.

Karen Newman is an American singer. She is best known for singing the U.S. national anthem at Detroit Red Wings home games, a role she has performed for more than 30 years.[1]
Biography
[edit]Newman was raised in the Michigan towns of Rochester and Grand Blanc, and was a 1978 graduate of Grand Blanc High School. From there, she studied music at Oakland University. She is best known for being "the voice" of the National Hockey League's Detroit Red Wings, regularly performing the national anthem before the team's home games, both at Joe Louis and Little Caesars Arenas. She has been called "the Red Wings' Own". Newman has toured with Bob Seger and Kid Rock. [2]

Career
[edit]Newman was trained at the Chelsea School of Art for a Pre-Diploma 1969–1970, then on to the City and Guilds Art School in Kennington, London 1970–1972. From 1980 to 2001 Newman worked at Madame Tussauds in London. Among her subjects were:
Newman's life-size waxwork of Charlie Chaplin was exhibited at the National Portrait Gallery, London.
In 2008, a bronze bust of Violette Szabo was unveiled at the Albert Embankment of the River Thames, in front of Lambeth Palace.[2
