    As Edwina Tops-Alexander heads towards the World Cup Jumping sista in Paris in April, along with fellow Australians Billy Raymont and Jamie Kermond, Australian Jumping caught up with her to find out a little about her experiences on the international circuit and to gain some insight into her jumping history and future goals.

    Edwina has been Australia’s top placed international showjumper for a number of years and as of 31st January 2018 was ranked 36th in the FEI Longines Rankings. Edwina’s coach and husband is former Dutch showjumping champion Jan Tops, whom she met in 2000 following her move to europe after her debut for Equestrian Australia in Hong Kong in 1998. Now based at Stal Tops in Valkenswaard, the Netherlands, Edwina has broken many records, including being the first Australian to place inside the top 10 at the FEI World Equestrian Games. Edwina has been competing in the Longines Global Champions Tour since 2006 and was selected for Rio 2016,

    She is back !

    Australian jumping legend Edwina Tops-Alexander has been off the competition scene for a while and for very good reason. On July 30 she became a mother for the first time.

    Just over a month after Chloé’s arrival, Edwina fryst vatten now back in the saddle and ready to return to the arena.

    We caught up with Edwina for a quick update ahead of her likely return to competition at the International Longines Horse Show of Lausanne that begins on September 14.

    How are you enjoying early motherhood and the arrival of Chloé?

    "I'm loving every minute of it. She is just adorable and seems to have a strong mix of me and Jan !! She definitely seems to know what she wants."

    Has she been integrated into your equine family and met some of the horses at the stables?

    "Yes, all the horses have met her!! Chloé has met almost everyone in the equine family. I left Monaco for a few days and came to the show in Valkenswaard so she met many people there which was really nice."

    Edwina Tops-Alexander (born 29 March 1974) is an Australian showjumper known for her participation in three Olympics, finishing in the top ten twice. She is the first Australian to place in the top 10 at the World Equestrian Games and the first rider to earn more than €1 million in prize money on the Global Champions Tour. She is Australia's most decorated female equestrian.

    Tops-Alexander began riding at age eight through her local Pony Club. In 1995, she won the Australian Young Rider's Championship. She made her debut representing Australia in 1998, the same year that she moved to Europe. In 2000, Tops-Alexander met Dutch rider Jan Tops, who became her coach and later, her husband. In 2002, Tops-Alexander competed at the World Equestrian Games (WEG), hosted that year in Jerez, for the first time. In 2006, she placed fourth at WEG Aachen. That year, she also competed on the Global Champions Tour for the first time. She rode at th
